The book in the 1980s the cover is a white rabbit and a lion. The book is a compilation of stories, parables and fables.
One of the first story is a pelican teaching a monkey how to grab a marble from some jars.
Another story is a african american child been told to wash his hands and in it the poem:
What is all this washing about,
Every day, week in, week out?
From getting up till going to bed,
I’m tired of hearing the same thing said.
Whether I’m dirty or whether I’m not.
Whether the water is cold or hot,
Whether I like or whether I don’t,
Whether I will or whether I won’t,
“Have you washed your hands, and washed your face?”
I seem to live in the washing-place.

Another story is 2 poor child selling their goods (vegetables) to buy some shoes and the end of the story is them
walking up a hill with family and friends.

Please help I want this book for my twin sister as a Christmas gift.
