Ambrosius______. I'm looking for a book I read as a kid, but I can't remember the name. asked 555 days ago by Jamie - 5 answersIt was fantasy, and I think it had a treasure map or something. The main detail I remember was that it was by someone with the first name of Ambrosius. I don't know whether that was a pseudonym or not. Anyone have any clues? Ambrosius was the purported "writer" of the book, not a character. It may have been a picture book, or at least picture heavy. It was a large, thin book. I know, it's really vague, but that's all I can remember. There may have been a search involved--a treasure-hunt or hidden picture type thing.
Not a perfect match, but it sounds like the "Dark is Rising" series by Susan Cooper: Ambrosius is the other name of Merlin. However, this is bigger, chapter book series.
