Attractive oversized late 60s-early 70s children's book with short bios on classic western figures. asked 361 days ago by Mark S. - no answers yetI recall it being about a coffee-table sized book. My elementary school library carried it in the early 70s. The bios included Jim Bowie, Davey Crockett, George Custer (?!?), I believe also either Sitting Bull or Geronimo. There were several bios throughout the book. Each bio had a large picture (drawn, not photography) at the beginning of each bio. Very colorful book. It sticks in my mind as possibly what really started my interest in reference guides, especially historical guides. It was an easy way to learn a little about each of these figures/legends and got me interested in these and other historical figures.
