Books that would be good to turn into films? ... Set Design Student needing suggestions! asked 336 days ago by Katie D. - 9 answers
Ideally I need books that would visually look good if turned into a film. I'm a Set Design student and for my final project i have to choose a book to use in my project and design the set as if it was to be made into a film. It has to be quite an ambitious project. Children books can be included too. Any suggestions are helpful!! Thanks!
Something that include all three would be The Blind Assassin by Margaret Attwood, but there's a lot of exteriors in that... The song is you, by Arthur Phillip. The Charm School by Nelson DeMille(set in cold war Russia, where a secret camp is set up made to look just like an American town, for traiing soviet spies to be "perfect" Americans). Locations at the camp, in Moscow and in the Russian countryside. alex rider the series by anthony harowits or poison by chris wooding Loved this question & answers! Thanks everyone for the book titles - will look them up. i think the hunger games would make a great movie if done right! Tetterbaum's Truth by S.R.Claridge and the sequel, Traitors Among Us by S.R.Claridge Swan Song by Robert McCammon? its an older book but would be incredible on screen. I think Susan Vreeland's book, "Clara and Mr. Tiffany" would be an ideal movie. It is set in the Art Nouveau period in turn of the century New York city. The novel was "visually stunning" in that the reader could picture all of the beauty that the Tiffany glass was inspired by. Also, wonderful descriptions of all the "modern" advances changing the world, such as the building of a new "skyscraper", the Flatiron Building.
