Childhood book I can't remember asked 778 days ago by Timmy - 1 answer

I had a favorite book as a kid but for the life of me I can't remember the title. It was a british book that consisted of a robot and a young boy. I remember the cover vividly- it was dark colors, gray and mute with the robot (which eerily looks like the one from "Lost in Space"). Does this ring a bell with anyone??
