Children's Mermaid Picture Book asked 590 days ago by JNavis - 1 answerI am looking for a book that I loved when I was a child. I don't remember the title or the story, but I remember that it had a mermaid in it. I was born in the early 70's but I think it was older. The illustrations reminded me of those of Mary Blair, but I don't think it was her. I remember the characters had very pointy shoes. Any clue? I would love any information about this if you can help. The story may be "The Lost Merbaby" which is included in the "Giant Book of Fairies and Elves" by Garth Williams. This book was a favourite of mine as a child and contains a collection of stories and poems that are simply delightful. I still have my rather well-read, well-worn copy which I look forward to reading to my grand-daughter. The illustrations are wonderful. This book was recently reissued and can be easily purchased new, although there are older copies available from on-line sellers.
