I'm trying to find the Title and Author of an old picture book asked 591 days ago by Patty Q. - 4 answers

I have been looking for a children's picture book that my daughter loved as a child, unfortunately we don't remember the name or author.

The book I'm looking for is about a bird and a fish who become friends, they enjoy their summer playing, etc; but are concerned that when the cold weather comes and they have to go south they'll never see each other again. Eventually cold weather comes and each has to go their separate ways, only to to find that when they reach their warm weather destination; they meet up again.

My daughter is 25 now, so she would have been reading this book in the early 1990's. I know I'm grasping at straws, but I'm hoping the story might ring a bell with someone.

Thank you for your time,

Patty Quivey

The only book I know of that sounds familiar to what you describe is 'Fish is Fish' by Leo Lionni, link below.

Meg says:

maybe Alto and Tango by Claire Schumacher?
"Parting after a summer of signing and dancing by the sea, two new friends vow to meet when it is summer once again in this part of the world"

Alto and Tango sounds like a possibility, I'll look into it.
Thank you very much.
