Looking for books I may be interested in. asked 541 days ago by Taylor M. - 9 answers

I have read and very much enjoyed, The Help, The Time Traveler's Wife, Anne of Green Gables, anything Nicholas Sparks and so many others I don't have time or space to mention. These are just some of my favorites. I don't care for books with too much cussing or very sexual scenes. With this knowledge, and sorry I didn't give you a bigger list!, what are some other books I may enjoy reading? I didn't want to look under the "love and romance" section because I was afraid I'd end up getting the "wrong" kind of romance book. Thank you so much for your time, Taylor.

Sara B. says:

Love Walked In and its sequel, Belong to Me, by Marisa de los Santos. Also Shelter Me (can't remember the author). Rose Daughter and Spindle's End, by Robin McKinley.

Naomi G. says:

Capture the Castle, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, Pride and Prejudice,High Hearts,

Taylor M. (who asked the original question) says:

I added Capture the Castle to a my wish list. I appreciate the help. I'm going to look up the other books, too.

Sara B. says:

You might also like Georgette Heyer's Regency romances. They're very funny and well written, more like Jane Austen than like typical romances. The Grand Sophy or These Old Shades is a good one to start with.

Naomi G. says:

Taylor, I should have mentioned High Hearts was by Rita Mae Brown, it is an older book and I know there other books with that name. You mentioned you liked Anne of Green Gables, wanted to mention Little Women if you have not read that and what about Laura Ingalls Wilder books? I am not sure of your age, don't know if that would interest you.Someone I asked mentioned you may like those if you like Anne of Green Gables. I sliked the Georgette Heyer's regency romances as well when I was younger, I would read hers and Victoria Holt's books, I loved her books.
Horse Whisperer by Nicolas Evans and The Bridges of Madison County, by Robert James Waller. Also a book that sticks out in my mine is One Thousand White Women, the Journal of May Dodd by Jim Fergus.

Claire says:

I loved Caroline B Cooney when I was in my teens, maybe a bit older than 12 but kids grow up fast these days. She may be a bit 90s though...! "The girl who invented Romance" i seem to remember enjoying...

Claire says:

Oops ... sorry, that was an answer to a different question!

Taylor M. (who asked the original question) says:

I'm 18. I didn't want to mention my age because it can really depend on the maturity level and preference of a person. I loved Anne of Green Gables and that could be enjoyable for any age- young or old- in my opinion. I have read Little Women and the Laura Ingalls Wilder books.
Y'all have definitely given me a huge list to look into and I am certainly looking forward to it. Thanks so much.

I am re-reading Kindred by Octavia Butler at the moment. Another good one.

Frank says:

If you liked SHELTER ME and stuff by Nicholas Sparks, try the novel BROKEN LACES.
