Looking for the title and author of this romance novel asked 423 days ago by Maria - 1 answerI read this book when I was barely a teenager. All I can remember is that this woman married a man and I don't think they were in love. He cheated on her and that mistake resulted in a son. However, he came to love his wife and as a result, he told the other woman that he wouldn't love his wife. So he cuts all connection with the woman except to help her financially for his son. Unknown to him, his wife knew that he cheated and she approached the woman. The wife was hurt but also kind-hearted and she kept visiting the woman and supported her emotionally. Approximately 20 years later, the man is approached by his son and they caught up. While chatting, the father kept apologizing for not being in his life, and the son was sympathetic and mentioned that his wife was supoportive. The husband was shocked. Apparently, all this time, the wife had been visiting the woman and his son and he had no idea. She love her husband and her husband loved her, but all these 20 years, he couldn't tell her the secret and she kept waiting for him to trust that she would understand. So, his son was leaving to the army or something...after he left, the husband ran back to the house where his wife who was probably now mid forties to mid fifties was sitting doing something...and at the look on his face alone, she knew that he knew that she had known. As he approached her about it, the hurt finally came up and she went up the stairs and started to close the door to shut him out like he did to her. But he pushed it open and proceeded to make love to her...She wanted to leave, and he wouldn't let her. He kept making love to her and kept repeating, "you're mine. mine. mine." As you can see, I'm desperately trying to remember the title of this book, but i keep drawing blanks. If someone could help me, it would be great! Please and thank you. christ.
