It is a memoir of a New York journalist that becomes pregnant with her boyfriend that she has not been dating for very long. OF course they try to make it work, but it doesn't and she decides to go through it alone. I am pretty sure that I remember the cover of the book having a black silhouette of a pregnant woman.
