Part of Yep doesn't want go on the rat hunt. Why does he volunteer to go? asked 268 days ago by Destiny S. - 3 answersNeed daa answer to At the beginning of the story, how does Yep usually interpret his fathers's silence? from The Great Hunt book Because, if he didn't go, his dad would twist his arm and FORCE HIM TO GO. His dad was soooo jealous of when Yep was reading and lollygagging in the AC house! Thanks Bert. You're doing a great service to this site :) Also, your answers are just awesome. I feel like the grinch with these answers but -- geez, what a waste of time for the readers of FLWB.... annoying. I just wish these kids would realize if they put out some effort they would learn and FEEL smart when they know the answers. Lately I have asked a number of young people about books they read and they say,"Umm.. I don't read..." and I am stunned. What happened that they never found the joy in reading not to mention the loss of learning? I wonder is it the parents not wanting to help them early on or the school leaves them behind as they struggle with reading. When I see tv for kids I think the junk has replaced good ole Sesame Street... at least they had a fun way to be introduced to words and books. We will or do have a generation of non readers and that impacts everything in our society.
