Just finished reading daughter of smoke and bone and it was fantastic. It deals a lot with magic and angels and it's really unique. I heard very good things about the night circus too. Why not read both? :)

Daughter of smoke and bone is a young adult book and the night circus is an adult book. This might help your decision also!

Night Circus was wonderful and full of magic. Put me my happy place.

I've just read both and I liked them both a lot.

NB: plot is not the strong point in either book, with circus having less of a plot, though that did not bother me at all.

CIrcus is more of a magical book both about magic and the effects it has on people, and magical because I found it a wonderful book. The main character is the circus and the descriptions are beyond words.

Smoke is the first part in an adventure story about what seems to be an ordinary girl, with some unusual parents, but things are not always as they seem.

Enjoy whichever one you read.
