A different take on this series, but the Detective Shan mysteries by Eliot Pattison (there are five of them so far) beginning with The Skull Mantra. Good mysteries and some great cultural/religious insight about an area of the world (Tibet) you don't hear too much about.

"Desperation" by Stephen King
"Swan Song" by Robert McCammon

or if you're not opposed to "comic books" try "Y: The Last Man" and "Ex Machina", both by Brian K. Vaughn (who also wrote for the TV show LOST).

The Ripliad - The Thomas Ripley five-book series by Patricia Highsmith

Begins with "The Talented Mr. Ripley"

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson and the other 2 sequels
