It depends on the audience you're aiming for. A great read for adults is the newly released "Discovery of Witches" by Deborah Harkness. A good YA read is the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead

I only read the first part of F. Paul Wilson's Midnight Mass, but from that I'll recommend it.
