Run, Zombies Ahead! Books if You Love the Undead, or Are the Undead

Most everyone has a fear of some kind; some embrace those fears, while others just simply run from them. Many people have a fear of the undead... not I. I embrace the undead. Thererfore, if you are a lover of horror books, especially about zombies, this is what I think you should read and therefore Flashlight Worthy.

The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead

by Max Brooks

I like this book simply because everyone needs to know how to protect themselves if they are in a mall (for example) and it becomes overrun with zombies.

World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War

by Max Brooks

Another excellent book by Max Brooks, currently being adapted into a movie. Chose this book for the realness of the accounts of being attacked by a zombie and the "first person connection" feel throughout the book.

The Mammoth Book of Zombie Comics

by David Kendall

This book is full of well-crafted spooky tales involving the undead. I do not frighten easily, and this book definitely scared me... but it was enjoyable!

The Zen of Zombie: Better Living Through the Undead

by Scott Kenemore

When a friend of mine suggested that I read this book, I was excited. How to be like a zombie? Perfect for me! But in all seriousness, if you are constantly stressed and need to learn how to relax and slow down and go about things at your own pace, read this book. It is well worth it.

Day by Day Armageddon

by J. L. Bourne

Another book recounting man's struggle for survival against zombies, in journal form. As you can tell, I love books that I can connect/relate with. You will enjoy this book.

Zombie Haiku: Good Poetry For Your...Brains

by Ryan Mecum

When I first found this book, I was intrigued. It combined my two faves: zombies and poetry. At first I thought it was just a bunch of haikus thrown together at random, but it is not. The haikus in this book form a fluid story. Definitely a must-read.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

by Seth Grahame-Smith, Jane Austen

What can I say about this book that has not already been said? Take a classic and add in some modern horror and the undead and you have a modern classic! This list would not be complete, I think, without the mention of this book, even though it has been recommended before. Definitely Flashlight Worthy!

Flesh Eating Zombies Figure Set

And finally, they're not books but they sure are fun. Collect 'em all! ;-)
